When 'Sheri Anne' was released in 1974, it set a new standard for excellence among Miniature Roses. After nearly 30 years in commerce, this is still an outstanding performer that can measure up to the more recent hybrids. In fact, my oldest plant of 'Sheri Anne' had several large canes last Spring producing over 400 blooms through its first flush! Let's see 'Incognito' do THAT! If allowed to grow as it pleases, this rose will send up some vigorous 24" canes, making it a larger plant than some. However, it can be pinched back or pruned to 1/2 height when it shoots up too tall, if desired. Large canes will produce huge displays of 50 blooms or more, so you may want to let it do as it pleases! Individual blooms are 1.5 inches across, with about 25 petals. The color, as you can see here, is a medium orange-coral color, somewhat like 'Millie Walters'. For those of you who have an interest in breeding your own Miniatures, 'Sheri Anne' is well worth exploring as a seed (or pollen) parent. It sets seed easily, and they germinate well. Many excellent roses came from 'Sheri Anne', including 'Sincerely Yours', 'Ivory Palace', 'Peach Candy', 'Prom Date', 'Moore's Pink Perpetual', 'Sequoia Jewel' and 'Kayla'. ARS
