Iced Tea , Bred by Ralph Moore, California, 2001 ('Sequoia Ruby' X self)

'Iced Tea'This new introduction from Ralph Moore was going to be named 'Sweet Tea', but Sequoia Nursery settled on 'Iced Tea' after all! (Photo courtesy of Sequoia Nursery)

I can't tell you much about this rose yet, as I have only just received my plant. I will report on it later on this summer. I can tell you, however, that being a Ralph Moore hybrid, it is likely to be a very fine garden shrub. Mr. Moore works hard to breed roses that perform well as garden plants, rather than plants that are useful only for providing cut flowers.

'Iced Tea' is described as having "unusual russet tones overlaying light peachy pink, with a darker reverse. The flower when fully open resembles a Camelia in form, the petals perfectly placed. New foliage is bronzy red, turning glossy deep green, and the canes are nearly thornless." 1 and 1/2 inch blooms on a 2 foot tall, upright plant.
