Red Alert, Bred by Ralph Moore, California 1991
Beautiful rich fire engine red, it deserves the name. A fine rose that beats the pants off of many more recent reds for garden performance and lasting color. I suspect the only reason this Miniature hasn't made a bigger impression is because it does not produce blooms on long stems. It is instead a very shapely rounded bush that is ideal for the garden or in pots, to make a specimen plant, rather than a cut flower rose. Quite honestly, I would prefer a shapely shrub for the garden rather than a cut flower machine. Highly recommended. ARS
