Cal Poly Bred by Ralph Moore, California 1991.
1992 Award of Excellence (AOE) for Miniature Roses (ARS)

Cal PolyBreeding: (Little Darling X Yellow Magic) X Gold Badge.

Cal Poly is a fine deep yellow miniature rose. Introduced in 1991 by the infamous Ralph Moore of Visalia California, it is designed to be an excellent small shrub for both garden and patio pots. It is a consistant performer, always in bloom no matter what the weather or soil or climate. This is not a show rose because of its informal bloom shape, but it certainly makes a great shrub for the garden. I have seen it grown in park gardens, and it is exceptional.

ARS merit rating: 7.7
Personal merit rating: 7.8
Hardiness: Likely USDA zones 6 to 10, zone 5 in a protected location.
Shrub size: approximately 12 to 18" tall.

Fragrance: 0.5, very slight.
