Rainbow Starlight, by Dr. Duane Coyier, Oregon USA, 1997.

Rainbow StarlightIf you grow enough miniature roses for long enough, you will occasionally discover sports on your plants. That is how 'Rainbow Starlight' came into being. Duane discovered this microminiature sport on a plant of 'Rainbow Chiffon'.

This tiny rose bears blooms no larger than a dime in a soft yellow and white combination, paling with age to white. The plant itself grows no taller than 10 inches tall, and has perfectly in-scale foliage. However, we have found that it is very susceptible to mildew when grown in the greenhouse, and to blackspot when grown outside. It needs extra attention to grow well, but it is very charming.
