Avandel, Bred by Ralph Moore, California 1977.

'Avandel'Breeding: 'Little Darling' X 'New Penny'.

Not only is this an excellent garden Miniature of soft coloring and excellent growth habit, but it has been a valuable breeder for Ralph Moore and other hybridizers. In many ways, it is a perfect miniature replica of its seed parent, 'Little Darling'. Softly colored buds of peachy orange open to blooms of cream and peach and yellow with full form and excellent substance.

This is a bit more upright in form than some of the later Miniatures, but the growth habit is still very pleasant and not overly vigorous. Occasionally a strong basal shoot will benefit from pruning to half its height in order to maintain the bush form. Bloom repeat is excellent, with blossoms produced in small clusters and occasionally one to a stem. There is also a pleasant light fragrance. This is a beautiful rose if you are looking for something with full blooms and softer coloring. An excellent rose.
