Baby Austin , introduced by Ralph Moore, 2001.

'Baby Austin'This is new for 2001. Ralph Moore is likely the only hybridizer who is currently breeding microminiatures. 'Baby Austin' is a charming new micro in a unique color: salmon! The name has a double meaning; it honors a new member of the Moore family, and it also suggests a resemblance to the English rose bloom form.

The plant is very tiny, growing no bigger than about 10 inches in height. The soft peachy pink blooms are produced in clusters and singly, and are about the size of a nickel! As with most of the very tiny roses, there is no fragrance. As this is new to my collection, I cannot offer an extensive report on its habits and performance yet......that will come later in the growing season. If this rose is anything like Mr. Moore's micromini introduction of 2000, 'Little Pinkie', then it will be a welcome addition to my garden.
