Ain't Misbehavin', Bred by Sean McCann, Ireland, 1990.

Ain't Misbehavin'Oonagh X (Pot Black X Black Jade)

New to my collection last summer, this is turning out to be a fine rose. I wasn't usually attracted to single roses, but I have developed an appreciation for many of them now. I appreciate the simplicity and "species-like charm" of them open bloom and the display of stamens.

'Ain't Misbehavin' is a sturdy, vigorous upright plant, quite stocky and with plenty of significant thorns. It's a plant you will want to handle with caution! The foliage is clean and dark glossy green, and makes for a very attractive background for the richly colored blooms. As you can see, the buds open a very dark, almsot black hue which lightens gradually to a deep red. This is a very nice miniature.
