Irresistible, bred by Dee Bennett, USA 1989.

IrresistibleAs you can tell by the American Rose Society's high rating, this is one dynamite little rose. Dee Bennett was a prolific breeder during the 1980's whose career was sadly cut short by cancer. Dee was in fact, so prolific that to this day, her company, run by her daughter Sue, is still introducing her hybrids today. Apparently there are still many roses bred by Dee that will be introduced in the years to come.

Irresistible is a very tall growing miniature. It produces spectacular clusters of 1.5 inch blooms of white with a soft blush colored center. In cool weather, there is often a hint of green on the outside petals, as you can see here. Blooms are very sturdy, lasting well in wet weather conditions. This rose is a favorite with people who like to exhibit roses in shows. As a garden shrub, it is also a spectacular rose, and since it is a tall plant, it is useful in a garden setting. This is truly one of the finest miniatures there is.
