Loving Touch, bred by Nelson Jolly, USA 1983. Breeding: 'Rise'n' Shine' X 'First Prize'. 'Loving Touch' is a very pretty rose, and will appeal to rose growers who are looking for miniature replicas of their Hybrid Teas. The blossoms are perfectly formed in the classic HT shape, unfolding with grace over several days, and are beautiful at all stages. The color is a very nice apricot hue, paling to a cream-peach color at the outside petals. The color is a very luminous hue which holds quite well for the life of the bloom. Flowers are most often produced singly on the ends of long stems, making them very fine roses for exhibitors. The plant itself is a bit on the large size, growing easily to 2 feet or more, which some people feel detracts from its merits. If you plant this as a garden specimen, you should be aware that it will get quite tall. The foliage is plentiful, and dark green, making for a very nice looking shrub. I cannot comment on its disease resistance, as I have grown mine only in the greenhouse so far. ARS
