Victoriana,
bred by Edward Burton LeGrice, 1977. England.
'Victoriana'
is one of the other "brown" Floribundas bred by the late E.
B. LeGrice. (See also 'Jocelyn',
which I also grow) I have only recently acquired this shrub, so I will
reserve comments till later on, once I have grown it one more season.
It
is reputed to be a fine rose with good vigor, and has few problems.
It makes a handsome shrub to about 4 feet, and has very good rebloom.
It is best grown in a cooler climate, as the chocolate tones tend to
wash out in extreme heat.
ARS
merit rating: none
Personal merit rating: 8.0
Hardiness: Likely USDA zones
5 to 9, zone 5 in a protected location.
Shrub size: 3 to 4 feet tall, depending on climate.
Fragrance: 1.5 little fragrance.
