Sharon's Delight, Bred by Ralph Moore, California 1996.

Sharon's Delight
Breeding: 'Golden Angel' X 'Safrano'

I first saw this rose in April of '99 while Ralph Moore was touring me through his greenhouses. I think Mr. Moore was particularly pleased with this rose because he made a point of showing it to me. My plant is growing in a large pot, and stands about 3 feet tall, covered in pure white blossoms. It is very beautiful, and will appeal especially for people who like single blooms.

'Sharon's Delight' is bred from 'Golden Angel', one of Ralph Moore's prolific yellow miniature parents, and the old Tea rose, 'Safrano'. It is from the Tea parent that it has inherited its tidy, compact growth habit. It has proven itself to be a fine, compact shrub with excellent repeat of bloom. It seems to be perfectly winter hardy, and quite disease resistant as well. I'm pleased with it, and would recommend it highly.

ARS merit rating: none
Personal merit rating: 8.5
Hardiness: Likely USDA zones 6 to 9, zone 5 in a protected location.
Shrub size: 2 to 4 feet tall, depending on climate.
