'Red Trail', bred by ? (possibly Interplant), 1991.

'Red Trail'I have grown this ground cover rose for a year now, and it seems to be slow to get established. It has spread to about 7 feet across in a circular pattern, yet is no more than 8 inches above the ground! The single blooms are a clear red hue, with a bit of a white eye, and about 1.5 inches across. It repeats all season.

I have seen mature plants of this cultivar that are spectacular, and I can see it having immense value as a landscape shrub to cover large areas. Perhaps it would have a use for municipal plantings and parks as it seems to be quite disease resistant and care free. It doesn't repeat very quickly, but when it does bloom, it is a showstopper. Spet blooms drop cleanly without haveing to be removed manually.

Sadly, there is no fragrance to the blooms.
