Rose de Rescht X Tradescant. Bred by Paul Barden, 2001.

I have found working with 'Rose de Rescht' to be less than satisfactory in terms of its ability to produce viable seeds. However, I did get this one worthwhile seedling when crossing it with Austin's 'Tradescant'. The color of this rose is very similar to 'Reine de Violettes' with its soft, muted violet hues. The growth habit of the plant is very similar to 'Rose de Rescht', but a bit taller. It repeats all through the season and has some nice scent as well. The jury is out as far as its real merit is concerned; I want to grow this a few more years to see if it has any value. Stay tuned!
