Teasing Georgia (AUSbaker), David Austin 1998. Breeding: Charles Austin X "seedling".
Patent No: 4930 on 20-Sep-1999

This is one of the most recent of the Austin roses to finally make its way to North America. While I do not yet grow this variety, I found it to be one of the most exquisite of the new English varieties I have seen in recent years, and would have to say that in my opinion, it is a big improvement over the yellow/apricot Austins that have preceded it.

The official registration description is as follows: Apricot-yellow, medium yellow [ARS my], Yellow blend blooms. Strong fragrance. 41 petals. Average diameter 3½". Repeats.

I can't assess its performance in my own garden, so I cannot comment on its habits. However, it certainly looked like a very fine rose in the garden I was viewing. I look forward to trying it in my garden.

Regan Nursery is one of the American suppliers, as is David Austin Roses in England, and Fork And Spade in California.

Personal merit rating: undecided
Hardiness: USDA zones 6 to 10, possibly zone 5 in a protected location.
Shrub size: 3.5 to 5 feet tall, and 4 feet wide.
