John Clare, Austin 1994. Breeding: Wife of Bath X seedling John Clare is another of the newest Austin pinks that I have only seen and do not yet grow myself. It will make a tidy shrub of about 3' tall, and is unfortunately not very highly scented. Arena Rose Co.'s Catalog 2000 says John ClareŽ has been described by many as the most floriferous of David Austin's roses. The cupped blooms range seasonally in color from light crimson in cool weather to deep pink in warm weather. This rose commemorates the British poet of the same name. One of the roses (listed as 'John Clare') in the Rose Introducers of New Zealand (RINZ) 1998 Display Trial. Sorry,
but that is all I know about it! ARS
