William
Shakespeare,
Austin 1987. Breeding: The Squire X Mary Rose.
'William
Shakespeare' is one of the Austin roses that has been relegated to
the "collectors item" group.......a plant that can produce
some magnificent blooms if you are willing to give it exceptional
care. The blooms can appear an almost blackish crimson at atimes,
and they have a wonderful fragrance. Sadly, the foliage is very prone
to disease, and in many climates will require spraying regularly.
If you are willing to give this rose the special care it needs, it
can be a most beautiful rose.
