Country Living, Austin 1991. Breeding: Wife of Bath X Graham Thomas

'Country Living'
'Country Living' is one of the fairly new Austin roses on the market, and is new to my collection also. I have only seen two blossoms on my plant so far, and will therefore reserve comment till later on.

The blooms are a warm pink on a very twiggy, compact plant that resembles a Damask Perpetual in habit, somewhat. There is a light fragrance, and the blooms are medium in size for an English rose. I suspect that with excellent culture, this will make a very nice little rose of much character.

ARS merit rating: None assigned.
Personal merit rating: undecided
Hardiness: USDA zones 5 to 9, possibly zone 4 in a protected location.
Shrub size: 2.5 to 3 feet tall, and same in width.
Fragrance: 3.0, moderate Old Rose scent.
