Tiffany, bred by Lindquist, USA 1954. 'Charlotte Armstrong' X 'Girona'

TiffanyTiffany is the first rose that I remember growing when I was helping my Grandmother do the gardening. While I admit that I am not a fan of the Hybrid Tea class for many reasons, I do still grow a plant of 'Tiffany' for sentimental reasons.

'Tiffany' is one of the older Hybrid Teas, but is still considered to be one of the all time best. Unlike so many of its clan, it has a strong, sweet fragrance to offer. That is one of the reasons that I grew it when I was 16, and that is why I still have it now. It is a reasonably disease free rose; last summer several of my English roses were struggling with Blackspot, and yet this rose, within a few feet of all the others, had none. The medium pink blooms with the golden yellow centers open slowly, holding that classic HT form for a long time before opening fully. Blooms have about 20 petals, and open fully to display stamens.
