Tiffany, bred by Lindquist, USA 1954. 'Charlotte Armstrong' X 'Girona'
'Tiffany' is one of the older Hybrid Teas, but is still considered to be one of the all time best. Unlike so many of its clan, it has a strong, sweet fragrance to offer. That is one of the reasons that I grew it when I was 16, and that is why I still have it now. It is a reasonably disease free rose; last summer several of my English roses were struggling with Blackspot, and yet this rose, within a few feet of all the others, had none. The medium pink blooms with the golden yellow centers open slowly, holding that classic HT form for a long time before opening fully. Blooms have about 20 petals, and open fully to display stamens.
