Hermosa,
sometimes
classed as a Bourbon hybrid. Marchesseau, France, pre-1837

'Hermosa' is in some ways a plain rose, but in the right climate it
can be a very useful addition to any garden. It is a true workhorse
of a rose, blooming endlessly and generously. The form is somewhat loose,
and the color is a medium pink, as you see here. The plant itself is
somewhat upright, and it has been suggested by some gardeners that to
get a better, fuller effect, it is best planted in groups of 3 or more.
I
like this little charmer a lot, but it has shown to be a bit too susceptible
to Blackspot in my garden. Not enough to discourage me entirely, but
it does seem to go through too many bare cycles in the summer. Otherwise,
this is a perfectly happy, healthy rose.
