"Martha
Gonzales" , a
found rose, identity uncertain.
'Martha Gonzales' is one of those found
roses, whose true identity is unknown. It was discovered in Navasota,
Texas by Joe Woodward in 1984, and resembles the old China hybrid, 'Fabvier',
which it may in fact be! No matter what its identity, this is a fine
compact rose for a small garden.
'Martha
Gonzales' is a typical China in habit, with twiggy growth, and smallish
dark green foliage. The plant is almost always in bloom, and the foliage
is quite disease resistant. This plant makes a very good low hedge,
and is also a good rose for container culture.
