'Royal Blush', bred by Rolf Seivers, Germany, 1984.
There are several roses in this series, mostly pinks, and whites, but there is also a pale yellow, a deep red, and one crimson rose as well. (They can be purchased from The Uncommon Rose) These shrubs are hardy from zones 4 - 9. Most of them are large, graceful shrubs of about 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide, with a couple of them reaching 8 feet tall. Royal Blush is described as 6 X 6 feet. Although I have had mine for only a year, it is already showing itself to be very vigorous and healthy. These roses are supposedly very disease resistant, and I have not seen any blackspot or mildew. Needless to say, these shrubs are once-blooming, as are their Alba parents. I do not consider this to be a drawback, as they are excellent shrubs, and an amazing sight in full bloom. Recommended. ARS

'Royal
Blush' is one of the rare new roses bred from Old Garden Roses.
The scant information available about Mr. Sievers' Hybrid Albas suggests
that they are apparently the result of crosses using modern Hybrid Teas
and Kordesii roses with Albas. When you see one of these roses in bloom,
you will appreciate what a good idea this was!
